Today, he finally got discharged.
A patient who got addicted to opioid and is now willing to give it up.
I spent 4 hours last friday trying to sort out his opioid detox program as he lives in a place where pharmaceutical and medical services are limited.
"You are still young, get help and get over with this addiction as soon as possible. Even if you need 1 or 2 years, it's worth it. You have kids and you have 30 years ahead of you. Your life would definitely be much much better without the addiction."
He said to me he is motivated and determined to get over with it and couldn't thank me more for helping him. I think the 4 hours of numerous phone calls to different people were worth it.
I forgot to tell him before he left today :
"Promise me, do not get addicted again."
I hope, he will.
